St. George Catholic Church: A Community History (NPA-TV, 2007)

In the wake of the 2002 child sex abuse scandal, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston closed more than 60 churches and sold many of them off to pay a $93 million settlement to victims. One of those churches was St. George Roman Catholic Church in South Norwood, Massachusetts. Built by Lithuanian immigrants in 1915, it served as a cultural and religious hub of the community for more than 90 years. In 2007, the church was converted into residential condominiums. This documentary, which I wrote, edited and produced for Norwood Public Access Television, is the story of the church, the conversion and the community who called it home.
